Meet the Leadership Behind The HR Factor

After 20+ years in the HR game, working with businesses of all sizes across multiple industries, I saw the same problems over and over again - with businesses struggling with compliance, hiring, and people management because they didn’t have access to real, hands-on HR support. Instead, they were stuck with cookie-cutter advice, outdated policies and agreements, and reactive plans that continued to inhibit long term business growth.
The HR Factor was born out of a desire to change how small and medium-sized businesses in New Zealand experience HR and to provide commercially driven support that delivers everything they need and nothing they don’t.
Outside of HR, I specialise in overcommitting to social plans, binge-watching crime documentaries like I’m training for the FBI, and planning holidays I may or may not actually book.
Kim Rippin - Founder/Managing Director

After working with Kim for over 10 years in a number of different roles and organisations, it was a no-brainer to re-join forces in a company that truly embodies the best HR approach whilst continuing our partnership (and friendship) as we continue the next chapter. Whilst I have a degree from the University of Auckland and a Graduate Diploma from Auckland University of Technology, I’ve honed my HR experience in employment relations, change management, leadership, and performance development during my career in various organisations and industries. I have a passion for partnering with organisations to drive strategic people initiatives and enhance workplace culture which aligns perfectly with The HR Factor’s commitment to fostering high-performing teams and sustainable success.
I like to think I bring a down-to-earth, fun and passionate approach to our clients, and am told they absolutely love working with me - they sure keep me very busy! In my spare time when I’m not trying to keep up with my young son, alongside my husband, I am a beekeeper, have a small flock of rescue chickens and attempt to maintain a vegetable garden at our semi-rual home in Auckland’s North West.
